10th Annual Champions for Children Walk
Summer is just around the corner. That means the Children's Advocacy Center of North and Northwest Cook County’s 10th Annual Champions for Children 5K Walk is fast approaching! CAC is already looking forward to a lovely summer morning filled with sun, fun and steps towards a brighter future for the children and families we serve. Details for this fun filled event include:
- This year’s event will be held on Sunday, June 25th.
- Registration will begin at 8:30AM and the walk will promptly start at 9:30AM.
- Everyone from the family is welcome, including dogs! Children 11 and under are free.
- After the walk is completed, participants, volunteers and their families will be able to enjoy entertainment, children’s game, music and refreshments.
With this event, you have the opportunity to fundraise for the CAC. Setting up your page is simple! All you need to do is register and your own fundraising page will be built for you. You can then fill in some details if you choose. Be sure to post your page on your social media sites to help spread the word!
We encourage our fundraisers to get creative with you page and consider different ways to fundraise! On average, an individual will walk 6,200 steps during a 5K. What about people pledging $0.10 for every step you take? You would fundraise $620 for CAC! Or, what about asking for input from your donors about a theme for each kilometer you walk? Ideas could be to sing Disney songs for the first kilometer, skip all of the second kilometer, do one cartwheel every 100 feet during the third, blow bubbles throughout the fourth and walk hand-in-hand with your friends and family during the fifth kilometer and as you cross the finish line. Again, be creative!
By becoming a fundraiser for CAC’s Champions for Children 5K Walk, you will help children and their families heal from the trauma they experienced and take steps towards growth and a brighter tomorrow. We look forward to seeing you on June 25th!
