On Monday, July 17, 2017 the 2nd Annual CAC Golf Outing presented by ANGUS Chemical Company was held at the Schaumburg Golf Club. The event, headed by CAC Board Member Brian Lucas, and committee members Jan Tomaselli and Rick Tomaselli, featured a golf tournament, mini-games and a silent auction.
Thanks to the support of our golfers, sponsors and volunteers, we raised $40,000 to aid the children and families served by CAC.
Throughout the event golfers were encouraged to participate in mini-games such as a putt contest where a lucky golfer, Mark Koplin, had the opportunity to putt for a $5,000 cash prize! Seven golfers qualified, but only one made it to the final round. Unfortunately, the putt missed the hole, but attendees enjoyed the excitement!
The event ended with a banquet-style dinner and our silent auction. Companies from around the area generously donated gifts for golfers and CAC supporters to bid on – from sports memorabilia to spa days, the auction had something for everyone. All funds raised from the event directly support the healing services provided by CAC, who serve over 800 clients annually.
At the conclusion of the event, three golf teams were awarded with the honors of first, second and third place. Our winning teams were:
First Place: Rob Marziani, Jim McKenzie, Dan Saviano, Greg Ring,
Second Place: Dick Willix and Complete Building Maintenance guests
Third Place: Jim Burke, Mucia Burke, Gene Faut, Tobi Faut
Our volunteers from Optum helped the event run smoothly and ensured all our golfers, regardless of place, were having a great time. When asked why he wanted to volunteer for this specific event, Gil Quintero said, “Seeing the great work the organization [CAC] does makes me want to help. This is just a little thing I can do to help push the needle forward.”
Overall the event was a great success and we’ve already penciled in the date for next year – July 16, 2018! Our CAC Golf Outing could not happen without the generosity of Angus Chemical Company, our sponsors, volunteers, supporters, and of course our golfers! We’d like to thank you all for your continued support, and for helping change the lives of children in need.
