Today's children are exposed to violence in their homes,
schools and community. Whether the violence is seen,
heard or experienced, it impacts the health and sense
of well-being of children and their families.
Safe From the Start is a community response dedicated
to reduce the trauma of exposure to violence in children
ages 0-5. The Children's Advocacy Center, as the lead
agency for a coalition of more than 25 agencies and
organizations, has implemented this program that currently
serves residents in the communities of Hoffman Estates,
Schaumburg, Streamwood, Hanover Park, Rolling Meadows, Mount Prospect, Prospect Heights and Elk Grove Village.
